You will probably know that the clutches on your Rotax engine work very hard. So it stands to reason that they will need some service.
Have you ever broken a pin on the geared Backing Plate that holds the shoes in place. Well what you may not realise is the reason why the pin had broken. Please allow me to help you.
One of the major reasons is that the little shock rubbers shown in this kit has collapsed and the shoe is working directly onto the hard metal pin. This shock is then transmitted back through the aluminum shoe into the pivot pin. Which is riveted into the backing plate. This hardened pin can only stand up to so much shock and eventually fails.
